Sound for the way Cork homes are used
The room we are asked about most is the kitchen extension: a long open space at the back of the house where people cook, eat and sit. Two or four ceiling speakers over the island and dining table, linked to the TV and the garden, cover it without anything on the worktop.
Outdoor audio is the other big request, especially in coastal homes around Crosshaven, Kinsale and Cobh where the deck gets as much use as the living room in summer. We use speakers rated for salt air and rain, and keep the amplifiers indoors.

Our approach to multi room audio
- Speakers where they sound best. Positioned for the room, not just where it is easiest to cut a hole.
- Hidden cables. Speaker cables in the ceiling and walls, amplifiers tucked away.
- Tuned. Each room is tuned with Trueplay or by ear so it sounds balanced.
- Room to grow. Start with one room and add more later on the same system.

How much does multi room audio cost in Cork?
It depends on how many rooms you want and whether you already own the speakers. Tell us about the house and we will give you a fixed quote before any work starts.
Can you fit ceiling speakers in a finished room?
Usually, yes. We cut neat holes, run cables through the ceiling void and leave the room clean, and the grilles can be painted to match.
Do I have to use Sonos?
No. We also install Bluesound and full multi room systems from 1Install's range, and recommend what suits your home and budget.
Can the TV play through the ceiling speakers?
Yes. We link the TV to the audio system so film and sport can play through the room speakers or a soundbar.
